We are pleased to report that the skatepark expansion is complete. The park is now about 40% bigger, providing new challenges and more room for skaters of all ages and abilities. Of particular note is the installation of a “full pipe,” a 10,000 gallon former fuel tank with the ends removed that skaters can ride through and on. This feature makes the park even more unique, and makes our local skaters the envy of many who travel from hours away to ride it. The park is also now lit at night to extend the hours of use. While most of us would view skateboarding as a fair-weather activity, our experience is that people will be using the park all 12 months of the year – including shoveling snow out of it! The lights will extend the day and skating season for these enthusiastic users.
